Celtic Oatcakes
As part of our Invasion topic Year 3 made some Celtic Oatcakes. This helped us to improve our weighing skills. We had to read the scale carefully so that we measured each of the ingredients accurately. We all had great fun!

Freezing Football
Some stunning moves, passes, saves and goals. 00 temperature but the heat generated whilst playing warmed the players up. Managed to capture one of the goals - an action shot (sorry, bit blurry). Well done boys, remember, you beat the finalists in a friendly whilst they waited to play in the final!

Cross Country
A cold day but the children ran superbly! Inclines and declines did not deter their drive and determination. They all agreed that it was both exhausting and exhilerating at the same time. There was even a battling sprint finish from Henry and Olly! This is the last cross country for this year as only the top six can go through to represent the district. The Y5 runners in the team have had a taste of what is expected and will hopefully represent Coalway Juniors again next year along with a new group of children from the current Y4's. Well done team, it has been a thrill to watch the effort and perseverance from all of you, not just today's race but previous races as well. Mrs Simpson

School Closed
Due to poor weather conditions school will be closed today.
Merlin has up-to-date theme based work and activities for the children to engage in during snow days. They have all been given log on details but if they cannot remember, please email Mrs Simpson - dsimpson@coalway-jun.gloucs.sch.uk with their name and year group. She will get back to you as soon as possible during school hours with log on details and password - remember to change the password once logged on. New Arrival - It's a boy!
Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Mason. Baby Mason born this morning - a boy! Mother and baby doing well.
