Olympics afternoon

Mr Nash, Mr Hooper and Mr Loade from Hartpury college have been teaching year 6 outdoor PE. This week they organised an olympics afternoon with sports ranging from javelin to hammer throw. They even had medals and performed a medals ceremony for the winning team and the children who were chosen as 'best effort' and 'clear sportsmanship'. Well done to all of year 6 for their fantastic attitude and sporting values shown and to team 'America' with Mr Loade who won the overall olympics afternoon.

Year 3 - Our Little Chicks!

Year 3 have had a very exciting day today as one of the eggs that they have been incubating hatched, making a very interesting Literacy lesson!
As part of our topic, The Good Life, we have been thinking about what different things need to grow. We incubated the eggs for 3 weeks, keeping them warm and turning them twice a day. We now have 6, very cute, healthy chicks.

Year 6 Real life learning

Thankyou Mr Morton!!
Last Friday, Mr Morton (Natasha's dad), came and talked to year 6 about his experiences, feelings and life as a soldier. He told them all about the food he ate, the kit he had to carry and what he did in his free time. The children found his talk really interesting and listened intently. In future lessons they will hopefully be hearing from more people who have served in the Army, RAF or the Navy and comparing soldiers nowadays to those in World War II. Do you know anybody who could share their experiences with the children?
